Description
From Mexico. Epazote is a strong-tasting/strong-smelling herb. So for some, it is an acquired taste. Used in Mexico and Guatemala for cooking and medicinal purposes (some say epazote reduces gas and bloating), it is reported to taste a little like medicine too. It offers the pungent flavors of oregano, anise, citrus and mint combined. Those in the know add the herb towards the end of cooking, and they use it in corn and bean dishes, especially black beans.
