Far from true anymore, this is still one seriously hot chile… It’s a back-of-the-throat burn some 76 times hotter than your average jalapeño. We just say it has a certain, “have the fire department on speed-dial” kind of hot. Unlike other hot chiles, the habanero has a citrusy heat that’s great in a multitude of dishes, as long as you like all things spicy.
