Gobernadora is also referred to as Chaparral or Greasewood, and is found in the desert regions of the southwestern U.S, in northern Mexico, and in the dry regions of South America. This bush has small, dark green leaves which turn to a bright green color after rain. The leaflets and twigs are used to brew tea to help in the treatment of the common cold and other chest illnesses. Gobernadora is also said to help ease the rheumatic and stomach pain, and has been sought after for its contained antioxidants.
