Coriander Seed

Did you know coriander seeds come from one of only three plants whose leaves and seeds produce different herbs and spices? Whereas its leaves are ‘cilantro’ and produce either a ‘love it or hate it’ reaction in people, everyone seems to enjoy the mellow, sweet and citrusy flavor of coriander seeds. Cooks use them in fruit pies, stewed in compotes, and even add them to vegetables and meats. They work well with allspice, cinnamon, cumin, fennel, garlic and ginger.
