A native Sardinian red that drinks like a darker
The palate is full-bodied and structured
a reminder that this is no simple bistro Gamay
The high-altitude vineyards around Terlano produce grapes with vibrant acidity and delicate aromatics
The result is a straight bourbon with real corn sweetness
Tenuta di Valgiano Palistorti di Valgiano, Colline Lucchesi, 2023 Wholesale A native Sardinian red thatIn the hills above Lucca, in the often overlooked Colline Lucchesi appellation of northwestern Tuscany, Tenuta di Valgiano farms biodynamically and works largely by hand. Palistorti is their more approachable bottling, a blend led by Sangiovese with Merlot, Syrah, Ciliegiolo and Canaiolo grown at around 300 meters of elevation. Certified organic in 1996 and biodynamic in 2002, the estate prizes composting, cover crops and biodiversity over any recipe.
